Roof snow removal and roof raking

Roof-snow work requires a review of the building and available access. Cottage Contracting accepts roof snow-removal and roof-raking inquiries within our winter service area. We confirm the work we can undertake, working limits and scheduling after reviewing the property and current conditions.

Share information from a safe position

Send ground-level photographs, the approximate building height and the roof configuration if known. Tell us about decks, slopes, overhead lines and obstacles below the work area. You do not need to access the roof to prepare an inquiry.

Distinguish the concern from the requested work

Describe snow accumulation, visible ice or another concern you have observed. Snow removal, roof repairs and investigation of a leak are different tasks. The proposed removal method and limits should be agreed for the site, including areas that cannot be reached with the available service.

Plan the ground area and cleanup

Falling snow and the resulting ground accumulation affect access around the building. Discuss where material will land, areas that need to be kept clear and whether moving ground-level snow is included. Equipment access and weather can change the timing of a visit.

Request a roof-snow assessment

Send your location, photos and contact details through the winter-service inquiry. We will review service fit and next steps. This page does not prescribe a universal snow depth at which a roof is safe or unsafe; roof condition and loading questions require assessment appropriate to the building.
