Window and door installation
Window and door work involves the opening, the selected product and the surrounding finishes. Cottage Contracting reviews installation inquiries for cottages and homes in our serviced area. Let us know whether the project replaces an existing unit or changes the size or position of an opening.
Show the existing conditions
Send photographs from inside and outside, rough dimensions and the number of units involved. Note visible deterioration, difficult operation or water-related concerns. Measurements for ordering and the condition of the opening need confirmation during the project review; initial customer measurements are for planning.
Define supply and installation
Tell us whether products have already been selected or purchased. The quote should state who supplies the units, who confirms specifications and what installation tasks are included. Product lead times, delivery and storage arrangements should be coordinated before the work is scheduled.
Include the surrounding finish
Interior trim, exterior capping, siding adjustments and painting or staining may be separate parts of the work. Identify your expectations for each side of the opening. Changes affecting the structure or other building requirements need appropriate assessment and approvals before construction.
Request a scoped installation review
Send your location, photos, proposed products if known and preferred timing. A standalone installation can use the general project inquiry; a group of changes within a major renovation belongs in the construction form. Product or manufacturer warranties are not assumed from the installation service and should be checked with the relevant supplier.
