Siding and exterior finishes
Exterior finishing works best when siding, trim and the details around openings are considered together. Cottage Contracting reviews siding, soffit, fascia and aluminum capping inquiries for homes and cottages. Share photographs of the whole building and the specific areas you want to change or repair.
Define replacement or repair areas
Tell us whether you are considering a full exterior update or work on selected sections. Identify the current material if known, visible damage and any related window or door changes. Conditions discovered behind existing finishes may affect the final scope and should be reviewed before additional work proceeds.
Coordinate the exterior details
Soffit, fascia, siding and aluminum or aluminium capping each have a role in the finished exterior. Discuss material, colour, trim profiles and how the new work meets existing surfaces. The quote should make clear which preparation, removal and installation tasks are included.
Plan access and trade responsibilities
Building height, sloping ground, decks and landscaping can affect access. Tell us about occupancy and delivery constraints. Any specialist or separate-trade responsibilities should be identified in advance, along with disposal and cleanup. A finish change does not by itself establish the condition of the underlying structure.
Request an exterior project review
Send your property location, current photos, preferred finishes, timing and budget expectations. Standalone exterior work can start with the general inquiry. If the exterior is part of an addition or major renovation, use the construction project form so the overall scope is considered together.
