Drywall installation and finishing

Drywall installation and finishing can be a focused interior job or part of a larger cottage renovation. Cottage Contracting reviews both types of inquiry. Describe the rooms, their current condition and the finish you need so the work can be assessed at the right scale.

Show what is ready and what is not

Send photographs, approximate wall and ceiling areas, and information about existing finishes. New boarding, finishing installed sheets and repairing selected areas are different scopes. Framing, insulation, service work and moisture issues need to be considered before covering the area.

Define the finish stage

Discuss boarding, taping, joint finishing, sanding and the intended appearance of the completed surface. Access, ceiling height and the condition of adjoining surfaces can affect the work. The quote should state the areas included and the point at which the drywall scope is complete.

Separate painting and other trades

Priming, finish painting, trim and related carpentry may be quoted separately. Confirm which crew or specialist handles each stage and who coordinates work in the rooms. A drywall quote should not be read as an all-inclusive renovation or finished-paint commitment unless those tasks are stated.

Choose the right inquiry

Use the general project form for standalone drywall work, with location, photos, dimensions and timing. If drywall is part of an addition or major renovation, send the complete project through the construction form. A small drywall job does not need to be described as a major renovation to request a review.
