Describe the dock and the problem

Tell us the dock type if known, its approximate dimensions and the work you have in mind. Photographs of the walking surface, connections and visible support areas are useful. Surface repairs, reconfiguration and a new installation involve different questions; the initial inquiry should make that distinction clear.

 

Explain access and seasonal use

Let us know whether the property is road-access or water-access, where materials could be unloaded and whether boats or other users need continued access. Include your desired work window and any known seasonal constraints. Availability is confirmed for the particular site and scope.

 

Define responsibilities before construction

Design, approvals and specialist involvement must be reviewed where relevant. The quote should state the work Cottage Contracting will perform, the components included and any tasks handled separately. Do not assume that a general dock inquiry includes every dock type, underwater work or shoreline alteration.

 

Connect the project to the property

A dock project may also involve steps, a path or work at the cottage. Include those connections so sequencing can be discussed. Use the project inquiry for dock work; use the landscape or construction hub when it is part of a larger defined project.
